OUR MISSION:
Our mission is to empower youth through the dynamic sport of ultimate frisbee. Through education, outreach, and accessible programs, we seek to promote physical health, teamwork, and essential life skills on and off the field in a supportive and inclusive environment.
OUR PROGRAMS:
Grants for Minnesota Youth Ultimate Frisbee Teams
The foundation continues to invest in the development and support the growth of Minnesota middle school and high school programs by providing Professional Ultimate Frisbees and monetary grants. Applications for fall and year long grants are now closed, and our spring grant cycle will open in January. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to Dylan DeClerck at dylan@windchillultimate.com.
Partner with the Pros to Recruit More Players
The foundation is excited to take a more active role in increasing the awareness of ultimate frisbee in Minnesota and helping middle school and high school programs recruit more players. Only schools with currently existing teams are invited to apply. There is no cost to become a partner. The Wind Chill will assist your program in recruiting more players by working with your team and school to send one of our players to teach a day of ultimate frisbee in physical education classes or introduce the sport to students in another way, and invite the students to attend a practice after school. Please only submit one partnership application per school per semester, but applicants may also apply for other foundation programs such as our grants. Applications will be handled on a rolling-basis, but we encourage you to apply as soon as possible so we may begin to work on scheduling and ensure the best set up for player recruitment. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to Dylan DeClerck at dylan@windchillultimate.com.
Host a Wind Chill Guest Coach
The foundation is excited to share the expertise and championship pedigree of our team, coaches and players with the community through our guest coaching program. Only schools with currently existing teams are invited to apply. There is no cost to host a guest coach, who will come visit a practice and work with your coaching staff to assist in the manner that will be most beneficial to your team (e.g. teaching high-level concepts to varsity teams, providing individual feedback, playing fun games to get new players excited about the sport). Please only submit one partnership application per school per semester, but applicants may also apply for other foundation programs such as our grants. Applications will open in early August and will be handled on a rolling-basis, but we encourage you to apply as soon as possible so we may begin to work on scheduling. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to Dylan DeClerck at dylan@windchillultimate.com.
Introduce Ultimate Frisbee to Youth in Your Community
The foundation is excited to share the dynamic sport of ultimate frisbee with youth who may not otherwise be able to access organized athletic opportunities or ultimate frisbee in an effort to promote physical health, teamwork and essential life skills. Our no-cost community programming relies on partnerships with non-profit organizations serving underserved youth throughout Minnesota. Although these programming partnerships take many different forms, we typically provide no-cost clinics, camps or other introductory ultimate frisbee programming led by experienced coaches. We’re currently looking to expand our community programming partnerships. If your organization could benefit from this kind of programming or you know of an organization that might be interested, we encourage you to reach out to Dylan DeClerck at dylan@windchillultimate.com.
Fundraise at a Minnesota Wind Chill Game
The foundation is excited to provide additional fundraising opportunities for middle school, high school and college programs to raise money during our games this season. Only schools with currently existing ultimate frisbee teams will be allowed to participate. Among the exciting fundraising opportunities we’re providing teams this season include team and group ticket sales (your team receives a portion of each ticket sold), 50/50 Gotta Go Gotta Throw mini disc half-time challenge (your team keeps 50% of mini disc sales, with other 50% to the winner), and set up/tear down crew (your team gets paid a flat fee to help during games). If you are interested in any of the offerings above, or have general questions, we encourage you to reach out to Tyler Anderson, Assistant General Manager of the Wind Chill, at tyler@windchillultimate.com.
Request a Donation for Your Community Event
The foundation provides a number of donations each year to assist Minnesota schools, ultimate frisbee teams, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with their fundraising efforts. We typically offer tickets, merchandise, and signed memorabilia for fundraising efforts such as silent auctions and raffles. All donation requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance for consideration. Please do not fill out this form to request monetary donations, sponsorships, bulk Professional Ultimate Frisbees, or volunteer support (we have other programs that provide each of those types of contributions). Additionally, we do not contribute to religious or political organizations or fulfill personal assistance requests. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out at donations@windchillultimate.com.
SUPPORT OUR WORK:
The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that relies on the generosity of our community to help empower youth through the sport of ultimate frisbee! By making a tax-deductible donation, you’ll allow us to provide financial support, equipment, coaching, and programming to ensure every young athlete, regardless of background, has the opportunity to play the sport we all love.
