FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saint Paul, MN – In 2025 the Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation awarded $36,750 in grant funding and distributed more than 570 discs to 21 middle school and high school ultimate frisbee programs throughout the state. In total, the foundation supported more than 1,250 youth ultimate frisbee athletes!
The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation is proud to announce the continuation of our commitment to support youth ultimate programs and the opening of its Spring grant cycle.
The Spring grant cycle is designed to support both the growth of existing middle school and high school ultimate frisbee programs and the development of new school-based teams. The Foundation is accepting applications for discs and monetary grants of up to $2,000.
As a recommendation, the Foundation encourages applicants to consider initiatives that have proven effective in growing school-based programs, including creative marketing, recruitment efforts, and awareness-building events early in the spring season. Applicants are also encouraged to review Minnesota Ultimate’s High School Program Strengthening Resource and/or Starting a Team Toolkit when developing their proposals.
Applications are open to students, teachers, parents, administrators, coaches, board members, and other supporters of new or existing middle school and high school ultimate frisbee teams. However, only one application per school will be considered, and multiple grants will not be awarded to the same school during this cycle. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on January 30, 2026.
