Christian Boxley, DC Breeze
After getting an in-person glimpse of the DC Breeze on Saturday at Carolina, it sure was fun to watch Christian Boxley carve up a quality UFA defense again. The Georgetown product sat out the 2024 campaign, but in returning to the Breeze O-line this season, he still looks in his prime at 29 years old. On Saturday against Carolina, he was a constantly available option working downfield alongside Cole Jurek and Tyler Monroe. All three in this trio finished with three goals, at least three assists, no turnovers, and at least 350 total yards. Boxley gets the Honor Roll nod since he led the group with 432 total yards, but almost anyone on the DC unit could be justified for this distinction, as the Breeze O-line endured just three turnovers across four quarters in their 20-18 road win over the Flyers.
Will Brandt, Minnesota Wind Chill (Pictured)
The reigning Championship Weekend MVP enjoyed a perfect offensive performance in Minnesota’s 2025 season opener. Will Brandt led the Wind Chill in both throwing yards (330) and receiving yards (392) in their 32-17 road rout over Indy, while also tallying three goals, three assists, four hockey assists, and completing all 36 of his passes. Previously, his career high for receiving yards in a game had been 203, which he produced in last year’s title game against Carolina. The 6’4”, 23-year-old—regarded primarily as a handler throughout his first four seasons—looks to be evolving into a more well-rounded hybrid, capable of defeating opposing defenses both with his throws and his downfield cutting capabilities.
Adam Grossberg, Philadelphia Phoenix
One week after his younger brother Sam delivered a dazzling UFA debut, Adam Grossberg also returned to the field for the Phoenix and helped the league’s most surprising squad remain undefeated. He previously had appeared in five relatively forgettable games for Philadelphia back in 2022, but Adam made a much stronger impression on Saturday in Toronto, when he totaled four goals, three assists, and three blocks on a team-high 28 points played, mostly for the Phoenix D-line. Meanwhile, Sam once again shared the team-high in completions for the Philly O-line, going 52-for-53 in his second-ever game. Combined, the Grossberg brothers significantly enhance Philadelphia’s ceiling in the East Division, as the Phoenix are 3-0 for the first time since 2012, when the Grossbergs were in elementary school and Philly was known as the Spinners in the very first season of professional ultimate.
Elliott Moore, Austin Sol
Long a staple of the Sol’s D-line, Elliott Moore switched onto the O-line for the first time since 2021 and illustrated he can absolutely control a game with his throws during Austin’s 28-19 victory over Houston on Saturday night. Moore went 57-for-58 and totaled over 600 throwing yards as the Sol improved to 3-0. It wasn’t all short stuff either, as Moore went 3-for-3 on his hucks while also accumulating 153 receiving yards, the third-highest total in his career (since yardage stats have been tracked for every game in 2021). The Sol, with two wins over Houston and another victory over a Madison team on the second day of a back-to-back, will have their toughest test yet when they face Colorado in another interdivisional challenge this Saturday.
Sean Mott, Philadelphia Phoenix
Through three games, 31-year-old Philly veteran Sean Mott is in the midst of a career renaissance, on pace for 608 completions, 24 goals, and 56 assists for the still-undefeated Phoenix. He leads the league with over 1,300 throwing yards and had his most dynamic game of the year thus far on Saturday in Toronto. In the rematch against the Rush, Mott tossed eight more assists, scored two goals, registered one block, and produced 780 total yards, the highest total for any player in the league this past weekend except his own teammate, Scott Heyman, who continued to be Mott’s brilliant tag-team partner in piloting the Philadelphia O-line to another road win. The season is still young, but Mott and Heyman have been the UFA’s most dynamic distributing duo through three weeks. With so much responsibility on their shoulders, they simply continue to deliver.
Dean Ramsey, Atlanta Hustle
The Phoenix have been the league’s greatest story, but perhaps the most thrilling moment of the season through three weeks came courtesy of Atlanta’s Dean Ramsey, who skied over three San Diego defenders to rip down the game-winning score as time expired on Friday night against the Growlers. The 30-year-old Ramsey has become one of the UFA’s premier buzzer-beater beasts, as evidenced by the fact that he’s either caught a goal or tallied a last-second block to close out a quarter in each of Atlanta’s first four games of the season. It’s an especially impressive stat considering the Hustle are currently just 3-0—their Week 2 matchup against Carolina, which included a first-quarter capping block from Ramsey, will resume this coming Saturday in Atlanta, with the Hustle leading 8-7 late in the second quarter. There were several other standouts for the Hustle during their two-win West Coast weekend, but Ramsey’s heroics just after midnight Eastern on Friday night/Saturday morning earn him the coveted Honor Roll nod.
Jason Vallee, Oakland Spiders
Don’t forget the Spiders! Oakland maintained its early-season winning ways by dispatching Seattle for the second straight weekend this past Friday evening, with Jason Vallee authoring perhaps the finest offensive game of his entire UFA career to help lead the way. Vallee calmly helped orchestrate the Spiders’ attack, tossing 41 passes without a throwaway, along with five assists, five more hockey assists, and scoring four goals in Oakland’s 26-21 victory. He wasn’t the only Spider to sizzle against Seattle; Evan Magsig went 60-for-60 with four assists; Adam Rees went 33-for-33 with seven goals; Leo Gordon and Walker Frankenberg combined for over 1,200 yards and 14 scores! But on the most difficult weekend thus far to select the scintillating seven, Vallee gets the individual honor due to his steady and explosive presence in helping Oakland improve to 4-0.
