I started playing my freshman year of college, in the fall of 2014, as a way to stay in shape for the tennis team. I played in high school gym class and researched the sport and I noticed how much running was involved and knew it would keep me in shape for collegiate tennis. My greatest accomplishment was being invited to tryout for the 2018 U-24 national teams. As a player, of color, that started in 2014 and was at a small D3 school, it meant a lot to be able to test my skills against the top young players I had heard so much about.
