UFA And Disc Culture Announce Strategic Partnership To Grow Ultimate Frisbee

October 28, 2025

The Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) announced a new strategic partnership with Disc Culture, an authorized partner of the Chinese Flying Disc Administrative Committee (CFDAC), the national governing body for flying disc sports in the People's Republic of China. The five-year agreement establishes a long-term collaboration to advance league development, coaching, and officiating standards and youth engagement. The partnership also introduces the Professional Ultimate Frisbee disc to CFDAC members, including the Chinese Ultimate League (CUL).

Highlights of the collaboration include:

  • League Development: Shared expertise to foster growth of both the CUL and the UFA, including annual exhibition matches, player exchange programs, and joint broadcast initiatives.
  • Professional Development: Joint coaching clinics, shared officiating standards, and the exchange of league operations best practices.
  • Talent Cultivation: Establishment of an ultimate frisbee academy to provide standardized training curriculums, research collaboration, and player development pathways.
  • Youth & Cultural Exchange: Annual youth tournaments alternating between China and the United States with community engagement and activities.
  • Ultimate Frisbee Growth: Coordinated effort to bring ultimate frisbee into schools and communities, create equipment donation programs, and empower volunteer coaches and teachers—all with the primary goal of increasing participation in the sport.

"This partnership marks a new chapter in the international growth of ultimate frisbee," said UFA Managing Partner and former Commissioner Steve Hall. "By joining forces and sharing best practices with the flying disc administration in China, we're building bridges between two passionate ultimate communities and paving the way for global collaboration in the sport."

"This collaboration represents an important milestone for the growth of ultimate frisbee in China," said Disc Culture Founder and CEO Zhixing Xue. "Through this partnership with the UFA, we aim to deepen international exchange, enhance player development, and bring the spirit of ultimate to more schools and communities across the country. Together, we will not only elevate the level of competition, but also promote cultural understanding through sport."

The partnership, effective immediately, reflects both organizations' shared commitment to advancing the sport's professional standards while fostering international friendship through competition, and cultural exchange.
