Popular Dutch tv show ‘Klaas kan Alles’, (show where host, Klass Van Kruistem takes on three different, wild and challenging tasks to see if he can do them) travelled to Toronto to be shown what it takes to play professional frisbee in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) by fellow Dutchman and transfer student Tom Blasman, an athlete on the Toronto Rush ultimate frisbee team.
Klaas was treated to a typical frisbee breakfast by Tom and some of his teammates (06:29) which highlighted the difference in nutrition between athletes and the everyday man, as Klass joked that he didn't ‘need to eat for a year’.
After a hearty breakfast, the team members and Klaas head to the stadium for some basic pointers (07:17) and after a few strong attempts, Klaas gets the hang of things and joins in for a match (09:06).
Fast forward to Klaas being put through the paces of an ultimate frisbee team warm up (13:31). Klaas is finally treated to watching the Toronto Rush take on the New York Empires (14:28) before taking part in a short 3 on 3 game with Tom and some of his teammates (16:04) where he scored his first goal (16:30) and ultimately helping his team to victory.
The feature highlighted Toronto Rush’s talent and team spirit, while giving Dutch player Tom Blasman a chance to share his passion for ultimate frisbee with viewers back home.
