2026: Defending the South
The wait is over, Hustle fans! The 2026 UFA season schedule is officially here, and it’s a gauntlet that will test the depth, resilience, and "home cooking" of our reigning South Division champions.
Coming off a historic 2025 where Atlanta finally clinched the division title, the target on our backs has never been larger. This year's slate features a mix of classic rivalries, grueling travel, and a heavyweight cross-divisional finale that could have massive playoff implications.

It's the Trap: Silverbacks Stadium
If there is one thing opponents fear, it’s a trip to Atlanta. The Hustle have established a legendary home-field advantage, winning every regular season home game for the last three seasons. Keeping that streak alive will be the priority for Coach Tuba Benson-Jaja and the squad.
Hustle Home Opener: May 16 vs. Carolina Flyers
The Texas Two-Step: A Grueling Start
The season opens with a massive physical test: Traveling for two road games in a single weekend is notoriously grueling for players. Fans should expect hot and windy conditions in Houston and Austin. This often requires a more disciplined style of play than the pedal down style you see at home. Getting off to a hot start with 2 wins could set the Hustle on a path to a 4th consecutive 1 seed.
One shot at revenge: San Diego Rematch
In Week 3, the Hustle head west for a significant road clash against the San Diego Growlers. This serves as the only meeting between the two teams this season. This is a rematch of the 2025 South Division Championship Game, where Atlanta edged out San Diego 22-18 to punch their first-ever ticket to Championship Weekend. Expect the Growlers to be hungry for revenge in front of their home crowd. The winner will hold an edge for any playoff tie breakers.
The Carolina Trilogy: A series within the season
You can't talk about the South without talking about the Carolina Flyers. Perennially a top-tier program, the Flyers remain the primary hurdle in the race for a home playoff game. This year, the rivalry reaches a fever pitch with an unprecedented three matchups in three weeks (May 16, 23, and 30). This "series within a season" will likely determine who controls the division heading into the home stretch.
The Interdivisional Finale: DC Breeze
The regular season concludes with a heavyweight clash against the DC Breeze. This isn't just a friendly cross-divisional meeting; it’s a matchup against a perennial playoff contender from the East. Why it matters: By July 18, both teams will be fine-tuning their systems for the postseason. This game serves as a litmus test—if the Hustle can shut down the Breeze's precision handler movement, they’ll prove they are ready for another deep Championship Weekend run. The outcome of this game could be a last minute shake up to South playoff seeding.
The Bottom Line:
It's not the schedule you'd draw up but you show up ready to play whoever they put in front of you. Historically, Coach Tuba's teams come out of the gates hot. If they can survive the early road trips to Texas and the West Coast, the road to the South Division title once again runs through Atlanta. With four of the final five games at home, the Hustle are set up for a strong finish.
