The Toronto Rush is excited to announce the addition of three new minority owners all based in the GTA. This milestone marks a major step forward in the team’s “2025 Rush Reboot” initiative — a bold plan to re-energize the fan base, re-engage with corporate partners, re-invest in our players and staff to position the club for its next phase of growth and innovation. To date, fans have responded to the team’s exciting brand of frisbee combined with an elevated in game experience resulting in an upward trend in attendance.
These new partners bring a strong local presence, deep community ties, and a shared vision for the future of ultimate in Toronto. Their involvement underscores the Rush’s commitment to strengthening its roots in the city while embracing diversity, collaboration, and long-term sustainability.
"We are proud to welcome Kevin and Marina Laven, Geoff Vaughan and Dean Woolley to our ownership group," said Jim Lloyd, Managing Partner. "As passionate Toronto advocates and longtime supporters of sport and community, they are a perfect fit for what we’re building with the 2025 Rush Reboot."
Kevin and Marina Laven of Toronto stated: "Ultimate has been a very important part of our family’s life. We’re thrilled to support the Rush in this exciting new chapter and to help grow the Ultimate community and passion for the game.”
Geoff Vaughan of Bowmanville Ontario commented “For me, this investment is an expression of gratitude to the Ultimate community, one that has welcomed and supported me for over 24 years. To my friends, teammates, competitors, and fellow Rush fans: thank you for the impact you’ve had on my life. I look forward to doing everything I can to help the Rush and Ultimate community grow and thrive over the coming decades. Go Rush!”
Dean Woolley of Milton Ontario added: “After ten years on the field as a league referee, it will be nice to cheer enthusiastically for the home side. I look forward to adding my voice to the Rush leadership as part of the current reboot energy.”
The addition of these minority owners is one of several strategic moves under the 2025 Rush Reboot, which will also include expanded fan engagement efforts, refreshed brand storytelling, and a renewed focus on partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
The Rush organization continues to seek like-minded entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders interested in joining our ownership group to re- shape the next era of professional ultimate in Toronto.
